1. The Staff and Service - Soufiane was a pleasure to deal with. He was kind and extremely helpful with my family and I. We arrived later in the day and he put together a most excellent 3-course meal for my family on very short notice. It was a little cool in the riad and he promptly provided some warmer blankets for my children’s request. 10/10 for service. 10/10 - kindness, 10/10 for making my family feel welcome on our first trip to Morocco. 2. The Room - the room was above average standards. It had everything that is needed while on vacation. Shampoo and shower gel, towels, hair dryer, clean sheets and mattress, clean shower and toilet, toilet paper, comfortable pillows, television with a large selection of channels. 10/10 for the Room. 3. Noise level - our room was on the second floor and it was very quiet. As the Medina, souks, streets can be quite noisy..it was nice to escape all of that, to the serenity of our room. The riad was also very quiet. There were other families in the riad with small children but it was like we were there with only our family. As my wife and I are not party type people, it was nice to have some quiet time. 10/10 - for quiet and peaceful. 4. Location: situated within a 8-10min walk of souks, carriages and Medina. 10/10 for location.

From previous comments a lot of people recommend him, but I was surprised to find beautiful person like Zakaria, that will talk with you about Maroc, People, Berbers and other things in Maroc. The breakfast is very good, served on a beautiful terrace overlooking the Medina. To highlight: the kindness of Rachid, who attended to all our needs and came to pick us up at the parking lot with help to carry our luggage to the room.

All moroccan tiles and cedar wood, you have stepped back in time. The main floor is truly a wonder of detail, arches, columns, and light. Hassan offers you the traditional welcome of tea and cookies, while you soak in the color and space. The first flight of stairs take you to the main floor with the bedrooms and suites. Completely furnished with authentic fabrics and very comfortable furniture and beds. The baths are modern and there is plenty of hot water at your disposal. The next flight of stairs leads up to the two terraces with views across to the modern city. A public park is directly below, with paths, many types of trees and plants. The Breakfast and Dinners on offer are nourishing and more food than one can finish. All cooked to order and delicious. Hassan is happy to accommodate your desires and can assist with any arrangements for tours. He also will help you to get oriented with the map that is provided. Meknes while a large city, the Medina is not a big as in other cities you may visit. Very easy to wander and not get lost. The restaurants are plentiful, with very tasty food. Some offer huge roof terraces to sit and watch the theatre that is ongoing in the squares and other areas. Or choose a sidewalk cafe and just relax and enjoy a coffee or tea. You return to the Ryad, and Hassan's welcome back to your home away from home. He is happy to organize excursions to the many sites in the area as well as offer you books which explain everything about the surrounding area. We cannot thank Hassan enough for his kind hospitality and expert services.

We were in the suite on the top floor. The main bedroom was fine. The adjoining room was without a/c so too uncomfortable for May. Fine for a couple. Breakfast was great. The whole Riad was charming and the service was great. I can definitely recommend this gem in Meknes. Great location behind the main square.
