Situated 45 km from Petrified Forest Khorixas and 100 metres from Twyfelfontein, Malansrus features accommodation in Twyfelfontein. Extremely knowledgeable and friendly staff. The excursions are well worth it. Herman our guide taught us a great deal about the local wildlife. Seeing the desert elephants was a holiday highlight. He also took us to visit Twyfelfontein in the afternoon, it was quiet and a wonderful way to appreciate the stones. Again his knowledge was exceptional. The tents are very comfortable with a shower, toilet and WiFi. The food is all freshly cooked on site and the best we’ve had in Namibia.

Located in Damaraland, Huab Lodge & BushSPA is surrounded by lush vegetation. It features a swimming pool and a natural thermal spring. It has a bar and offers free Wi-Fi and free parking. Very nice lodge in a beautiful setting. Excellent hosts Dion and Lidia, nice dinner with discussions with other, interesting guests. Dion took us to an interesting evening trip along the Huab river bed. Sure to return next time we are in Namibia.

Located 25 km from Khorixas, Gondwana Damara Mopane Lodge offers accommodation set in a semi-circle of interlinking pathways with a swimming pool at the centre. Cottages are separate in their own little yards. Large room. The yards grow vegetables which the lodge uses for the meals. Staff are very good. Delicious buffet with game meat and a variety of vegetables. Maria, the server, was very good. Breakfast buffet is also good with a nice variety including hot food.

A unique experience of ‘camping’ in a delightful location. Quiet well spaced tents with veranda, and outside private shower and wc. Friendly and helpful owners and staff. Good facilities with a communal pool for a cooling dip after a long drive. We did self catering but were set up with wood and a braii to cook as the sunset and under the stars.
