One of the best hotels that I’ve stayed in Japan. It’s a traditional Japanese style hotel with no shoes policy, which makes the experience even better. Super clean and spacious rooms. Amazing onsen and free soba after 9.30 PM.

Located in Shiojiri, 34 km from Takato Joshi Park, BYAKU Narai provides accommodation with a garden, free private parking, a restaurant and a bar. Let’s get some of the important stuff out of the way first - rooms were clean, spacious, staff were friendly, and the check-in process was easy. The room also comes with a heated tub which you can add your complimentary herbal salts. And the onsen was very enjoyable (albeit a few degrees too hot for me). But the star of the show was the dinner, which was outstanding. The chef takes you on journey around Japan with a focus on Narai and the surrounding regions. The menu apparently had inputs from the head chef of Den. The sake that the brewery produces is exceptional. Breakfast the next day was also fantastic and very filling (traditional Japanese breakfast but elevated). If you factor in the quality and caliber of the meals (dinner, breakfast) along with the amenities (onsen, free fruit drinks, water, cold tea), it’s great value. Highly recommended especially if you’re traveling with a significant other. The property also has a sake bar (although my wife and I didn’t try it).

Located just a 5-minute walk from Happo One Ski Resort, Hakuba Alpine Hotel features simple rooms and outdoor hot spring baths. It is just a 5-minute drive from JR Hakuba Train Station. The room is spacious and has wonderful views. Gorgeous breakfast and dinner, like we are eating at fine dining every meal. 3mins to ski shop and 4 mins to bus terminal, 5mins to Lawson. The hotel has the place to store our ski boots and boards. And of course, they have wonderful onsen, indoor and outdoor! I got there with the Tokyo airport shuttle bus, door to door, completely hassle free!

Perfekt beliggenhet. Vi kom med toget til Nagano togstasjon, og trillet koffertene over gata og bort til hotellet. Rent og fint rom. Jeg syntes senga var litt hard, men de 3 andre syntes de var kjempegode. God frokost, rene rom og nye håndduker hver dag og nye produkter på badet. Anbefales. Hotellet ligger midt i sentrum, med masse restauranter og butikker utenfor. Samt togstasjon over veien. Vi gikk til tempelet I byen, fin tur fra hotellet.

They have shuttle bus from station to hotel , we stay at cottage so it’s take time to go to from Mal then hotel then cottage. You need to change bus shuttle. But overall is a good experience

It’s clean, very well equipped with heater, cooking utensils. The owners are so nice and friendly. Language may be a barrier but they tried really hard to accommodate all our needs. The place is slightly secluded which is perfect for quiet vacation but you can still go to town centre by just taking 1 train to Karuizawa station and the owners are nice enough to drop and pick you!

We loved the room and lobby/common area design. Myself and my two children (12yr and 14yr) loved the fort like sleeping area for the kids above the sofa bed and the storage in the steps. The beds were confortable and the shelving space along the feature wall was great. The board games, the swing and teepee, the fire, the bed like couches, the visual connection with nature, the communal tables. The space encourages connection and community amongst guests. Staff are friendly too. Closeby there was a beautiful bunch of boutique shops (artisan shops), restaurants and outdoor skating rink and nature trails.
