Each room at Hillsdale has been lovingly and individually styled - as the B&B has been created from an original Lakeland Stone townhouse, so typical of Ambleside. No room is the same shape or size. We hope that each one is as comfortable, attractive and pleasing as the next. There are lots of little finishing touches and decorative details which add a certain charm to a stay at Hillsdale.Recently refurbished and new carpets throughout, the property is modern, light and tastefully finished.

Ambleside is a bustling market town in the very heart of the English Lake District, Wainwright's Walking Country. The beautiful lakeland mountains offer strenuous hikes or more gentle strolls, all of which surround the town. Fantastic waterfalls are only a 10 minute walk away and well worth the stroll through the woods. With some 44 eateries from small cafes to the finest restaurants and gastro pubs, guests are spoiled for choice when it comes to relaxing after a busy day out. The beautiful waters of Windermere, Rydal and Grasmere are within easy walking distance as are the historic homes of Wordsworth, Ruskin and Beatrix Potter.
