Ryo was an amazing host. He shuttled us to the mountain every day and was a great help. Although the property is so conveniently close to the train station, my friend and I still managed to almost miss our train to Sapporo… Ryo saved the day and drove us to the train station, carried both of our massive luggage bags up to the ticket booth, and helped us buy tickets just in time!

This place is absolute gem! It's gorgeously decorated with eco-friendly and wooden vibes. I loved all the little details like fire place at the dining area, chopped wood at the patio, cute bench where you can enjoy the view outside of the kitchen, etc. The whole place is surrounded by beautiful trees, and it felt like we were at the mountain cabin/cottage. I loved how they placed the windows in the room as well. The scenery is so picturesque, when you look out the window, it almost looks like a painting.
All staff were fantastic, they knew what they were doing and served superb service - they also keep the entire place so clean!! Everything we needed was right there and they made us feel welcomed. Their kitchen/restaurant - Tomoni is so good! There are not many options around the area when it comes to restaurants (We failed to find one that opens or have seats for our family on Sunday night after 4 restaurants.) so it's really nice they have a restaurant at the main building.
I'd love to visit here again and Shiretoko.. hopefully for staying longer. Thank you for everything, team HOTEL BOTH. Our experience with your place was 10/10. Cheers! x
Lake Toya
Situated in Lake Toya, within 6.7 km of Lake Toya and 37 km of Muroran, Guest House Matsuyoshi features accommodation with a shared lounge and free WiFi as well as free private parking for guests who drive. The property is set 37 km from Higashi-muroran Station, 48 km from Hirafu Station and 5 km from Usu Station. Oshamambe Station is 44 km away and Niseko Station is 44 km from the hostel. Me and my fiance stayed here from May 1 to 5. Let's name this place the HIDDEN GEM OF HOKKAIDO. - Tatami, modern minimalistic. 🏚 - Above and beyond amenities for a guesthouse. - The family vibe given by the people (staff and owner) to a person like me who has bad experiences as a Gaijin. - The sense of trust and balanced camaraderie between guest and owner. - The instructions in every corner of the house to follow, especially i am a foreigner who's wanting to know their ways and respect it. - The preservation they did to the house is a huge respect 🙏 - House is near at (1) 711, Ramen House, 1 Grocery store, 1 Fushi iminari, 1 JR station, 1 combini aside from 711. Tip: 1 They (711) have Takyubin if you want to send your stuff to your next city or province. It is very easy and very affordable. 2 Fare is very affordable, but you have to be aware of the time. PLUS, the last ride is 7:15 pm during my stay or else you will walk and hike in the dark for 1 hour and 45 minutes to get back home to guest house. 3. Although everything is cheap, you must consider shopping at the grocery store to cook for food when you get home around 8 pm for breakfast and lunch to bento it. You will save huge money to use for fare and activities. Overall: HIGHLY RECOMMENDED THIS PLACE. I WORKED FOR BOOKING.COM, AND I KNOW WHAT WILL PASS AND NOT AND I HAVE BEEN SENT TO MANY PLACES JUST TO RATE ROOMS AND PLACES LIKE THIS. BUT DURING MY STAY IS PERSONAL AND IT EXCEEDED MY EXPECTATIONS AND MY STANDARDS WHICH ARE RELATIVELY HIGH DUE TO MY PREVIOUS WORK. I WOULD CHOOSE THIS PLACE OVER A NY HOTELS THAT OFFER FREE BUS RIDES AND HAS VIEW.

I stayed in bunk bed units which is cool. Each bed has it own privacy partition. The sound proof is good. Pet friendly too!!!
The staff were sooo helpful and friendly even phoning our last hotel as my husband had left his reading glasses behind. They also answered many other questions we had. They offered an upgrade very cheap. Wish we had taken it even though we were very happy with our room. Comfy beds. Good pillows. Good public bath. Great location! Minutes from the Sapporo Station.
It was a super well thought out hostel. It had great facilities and super helpful staff and the coffee was excellent!! One of the best hostels I have ever stayed in. Really great stay!
We arrived with our bicycles and they kindly let us take them to the second floor for safe storage. The staff was very nice and room very clean and comfortable. Great location to Hakodate highlights.
Extremely luxurious and budget friendly. Great location in getting around and seeing the sites. Bed was so comfortable and room was great. I wouldn't stay anywhere else if I came back to Sapporo.
Wry clean. Great location. Cheap parking across the lane.
Clean, well-organised and plenty of room (+ locker) in the bunk bed. Quite cheap :).
The premises is a hostel that caters for skiers during Winter. We had the tatami beds in a private room and if we can cope aged 57 and 60 anybody can! It was the cheapest we could find but we enjoyed, aside from the cold showers, but it was cheap in comparison 😀
Great location, convenience store across the road. They also have onsite ramen meals which are cheap and huge servings.
Great location. Close to the station. And a paid car park (600 overnight on weeknights and 800 on weekends) right behind the hostel. The owner was super friendly and so was their dog who helped to greet guests as when they enter. The facilities are modern and clean. The hostel was safe and secure with doorlock codes for each room and the hostel itself after hours. There were also safes available in the room.
