The bedroom and bathroom was super clean and comfortable. The staff were very friendly, polite and helpful. The breakfast was plentiful , both cooked and continental. Location being centre of the island is great.

Newport was not dominated by a shopping mall, and there was a good variety of shops. There were some pleasant open spaces. The bus service to other towns on the Isle of Wight were good.
However, the public toilets had not been cleaned for quite a long time.

There is plenty to see around Newport Isle of Wight.
There is plenty to see around Newport Isle of Wight. There is the Owl and Monkey Haven with a good cafe and play area. Butterfly World is fun for all ages a cafe there as well. Busy Bee garden centre has lots to see over several floors and an excellent cafe with very friendly helpful staff. Chris rook Castle has plenty of history but best to go on a dry day. Newport itself has plenty of shops but if you want something a little different then Cowes is the place to go. If you are self catering then there are all the usual supermarkets. Quarr Abbey is a lovely place and the history behind it is well worth finding out. Again a fantastic cafe.

This is the county town of the Isle of Wight and, as such, has all the facilities you need. We based ourselves in Newport because we toured the island by bus and IoW has one of the best bus services in the UK. Most buses are double-deckers (go upstairs and see everything as you travel) and all routes round the island start from Newport. Newport remains vibrant despite troubled times for the retail and hospitality industry. Plenty of pubs, cafes (for afternoon tea), restaurants and shops. Not the prettiest of places, but you have the rest of the island to explore if you want "pretty".

Lovely little town, many really old buildings, well worth looking up as many town centre shops have fascinating and old upper floors. Beautiful little harbour with an Arts Centre by the river.
Pleasant park (Litton) with clean toilets but unfortunately non working hand washing facilities in both male and female toilets.
Attractive Sixth Form College formally the Technical Institute and an old Board School next door. St. James Church, immediately pe-Victoria, well worth a visit as are the old Guildhall and Museum. Interesting Roman Villa
Cosy, comfortable and homely! it was such a lovely place to stay, spacious room, en suite bathroom, clean and convenient. Owners are really lovely and welcoming will definitely be staying here if I visit IoW again in the future. Location was convenient for me as I was using buses to get around, and everything is pretty accessible from Newport. Town is at 5 min walk away, but things do close early around. 10/10 would recommend!
The room on the first floor was quiet at night. It was clean and spacious. Its facilities were very good. The breakfast was excellent, well-presented and satisfying. For a centrally-located inn it was surprisingly quiet at night even at the height of the tourist season. I would recommend this inn to anyone who wants to stay in Newport. The bus terminal is very close which makes it easy to travel anywhere on the Island.
Lovely warm welcome, comfortable room, everything I could ask for.
Definitely coming back
We cycled and enjoyed the Merstone meander, (kept our bikes in the back garden overnight) stopped for a picnic, would also be a lovely walk too.
Can also enjoy Newport town, shopping and nice places to eat
Stayed for breakfast, sat outside in beautiful walled garden, lush breakfast, again service was fantastic xxx
The room and the toilet were big
The breakfast is great
Air conditioning was a great add as the weather was so hot
I didn’t mind the decor but my sister (artistic) loved it
I think the room has everything you need for a long or short stays. There is an iron , coffee machine, good lighting, Wi-Fi
All types of restaurants around the hotel. I am vegan and found a lot of options
Close to the bus station
Convenient location within 10min walk of Newport Bus Station. The road is in the town but feels like a rural village, and is really peaceful. Absolutely lovely house, well equipped with things to use. Nice back yard with seating areas. Lounge is nicely split so you have a choice of sitting spaces. The house has a sizeable library upstairs too.
The hotel is in an excellent location, ideal to explore Newport and the island (by taking buses departing from the nearby bus station). The hotel has pizza service, which is a very good backup option after a tiring day of trekking. The breakfast is satisfactory and the breakfast room has a great view on Saint Thomas' Square.
Exceptional little place with a really wonderful team. Brilliant night’s sleep in a quiet room, and dinner & breakfast were to a high standard. The location is idyllic, you can walk to a pebble beach through public footpaths in around 29 mins or so, and the scenery is breathtaking.
Excellent location in Newport town centre close to the shops and a 5 min walk from the island's central bus station (the IoW bus service is amongst the best in UK). On a quiet road. Excellent breakfast and excellent hosts. All you really need for a stay on the island.
Friendly staff on arrival, the breakfast was good and had everything you would need. There is an outside area but we arrived late and left early so didn't sit outside. The hotel is tastefully decorated throughout. Very good toiletries/products.
Beautiful guesthouse right in the centre of Newport. The rooms are really well decorated and have everyone need. Breakfast is lovely, freshly cooked from a menu and the owner is really friendly
Very comfortable B&B with excellent hosts. Location in centre of Newport with plenty of parking and a place to store cycles. Lots of restaurants and pubs nearby for evening meals.
The hotel/pub is quirky, in a lovely location with bus stops outside to both Newport town centre and across to the Needles.
Staff friendly and helpful, breakfasts very good.
A central location although not a great part of Newport. In a mews and quiet. Private yard out the back useful on sunny evenings. Good wifi and plenty of channels on TV.
Hotel is in a great central location.
Staff were so helpful and friendly.
Bed was very comfortable
We had a family room and it was great. Two rooms in one.
