Very conveniently located if you need to be near the bus station. Clean room. Comfortable bed and good shower. Toiletries are decent quality for the level of hotel. This is my favorite hotel in Montevideo if I'm in transit (if the price is right as it can vary a bit)

While the Tres Cruces Hotel might not be the fanciest in Montevideo, it surprised me with its charm and genuine hospitality. My single room was basic but clean and comfortable, offering a welcome haven after exploring the city. The bed was a bit on the firm side, and the air conditioning was a lifesaver during the Uruguayan summer. However, the real star of the show was the staff. Every interaction, from check-in to breakfast, was met with a smile and genuine helpfulness. Speaking of breakfast, it was a delightful surprise! It wasn't a massive buffet, but everything was beautifully presented and incredibly tasty. The location, right next to the Tres Cruces bus terminal and shopping center, was also ideal. I could easily catch buses to explore other parts of the country or just stroll around the neighborhood, picking up souvenirs and trying local restaurants. While there's no rooftop pool or spa, the Tres Cruces Hotel offers something much more valuable: a genuine Uruguayan experience. It's a no-frills haven with a heart of gold, perfect for solo travelers on a budget who appreciate friendly service, a central location, and a simple, satisfying breakfast.

In general, I am very satisfied with the hotel & the room. The price / quality ratio is excellent. Of course there are things to improve but at the end of the day this is not a 5 star hotel.

This Hotel is a great value in the center of old town. There is no question the place is shabby, and has seen better days.
But the high ceilings and room fixtures echo a yesteryear of elegant travel. Sure the hall carpet it not as clean as it could be; the room was fine. The neighborhood has the potential for danger at night; I was never harmed or threatened. There is a pleasant outside terrace to sit on and sip a beverage at the end of your day. I also found the staff to be exceedingly friendly and helpful.
