The staff were very friendly and attentive, food was good and breakfast was excellent choice . Complimentary happy birthday chocolates in room. Visited with dog and was given dog biscuits on arrival which I thought was a nice touch .

Very clean and tidy and efficient service - reminded me of the famous "crossroads motel" - the lady at the desk was very positive and up building when we had a message that our train was cancelled - She said there was one every hour to Edinburgh and she was not only right but motivated us to get to the station and not give up - thankyou As I was unwell and still recovering from a summer cold I really appreciated her positive attitude to help me to get going and even made sure we knew the way to the station

Nestled away from the village located right on the river the setting is beautiful. It’s an unmanned hotel which we didn’t mind at all, the codes sent through worked without issue and we opened the door to a beautifully decorated room, small but perfectly formed and adequate for our nights stay. Bathroom also very good and the shower was powerful and hot. Tea/coffee facilities with plenty of everything. We went downstairs to explore and found the kitchen and dining area again everything you could need - proper wine glasses and flutes, crockery and cutlery. A selection of breads and cereal for breakfast, coffee machine, kettle, microwave and toaster. Fridge to store your personal foodstuffs and a dish washer. The whole place was nipping clean and the view from our room was blissful. Only thing I’d say is eat before you arrive, take something to microwave or do your research where to eat in advance as in the village there is limited options. I travelled with a friend and we absolutely loved the hotel if I have a need to be in the area again 100% we would stay there again. And will recommend if you want a quiet base with easy access to Glasgow (there is a train link) I had read a reviews where people didn’t like the unmanned property but we didn’t mind it at all it was safe, had parking, and actually felt more relaxed. Thanks to James and the team for a great place to stay.
