It was the first time I had been away on my own and I had the best time! Carlton Manor is away from any big roads and other properties. The countryside there is quite flat so you have glorious views and lots of big sky to see.
The pods were honestly perfect, so clean, warm, and well equipped - the bed was like sleeping on a cloud! The owners/managers went above and beyond to help me with problems with my TV and offered an extra night free of charge because of it and my pod wasn't quite ready when I arrived (I was a bit early anyway).
I can't wait to return! Thank you!

Nothing. Restaurant looked nice but despite our booking for the night they refused to serve even a snack (after a journey of several hours). We arrived at 8.25pm and were told the kitchen would close at 8.30pm. They were visibly irritated when I asked if they could see if a cold snack could be provided. In the event that was refused as well. Nothing was available nearby and the only option was another drive to a Wendy’s.
The Railway Inn is located near Rise, 13 km from Kingston upon Hull. Guests can enjoy the on-site restaurant. Free private parking is available on site.

The hotel is centrally located, good size room. The breakfast was good, plenty of choice. The parking is the shopping centre's parking, so there is an extra £8 per day charge. We had some issues with it but they were solved by the reception, very helpful young man. Recommended if you visit with children. Alison even let us check-in early as our daughter was tired. Liked the green approach to room cleaning, if not needed just let the reception know.
